The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has officially released a revised timetable for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, just days before the exams are set to begin. This update serves as an important reminder for all registered candidates, who must take full cognizance of the new schedule and adhere strictly to their allocated dates, times, and venues to ensure a seamless participation in the examination process.

According to the board, the 2026 UTME is scheduled to hold nationwide from Thursday, 16th April 2026 to Saturday, 25th April 2026. Candidates are expected to check their individual examination details carefully, as each person will be assigned a specific day and session within this period. The board has emphasized that no candidate will be permitted to sit for the examination outside their confirmed schedule, underscoring the need for prompt verification through official channels.

In addition to the main examination window, the optional mock UTME, which provides valuable practice in the computer-based test format, took place on Saturday, 28th March 2026. This mock exercise was extended to four hours, divided into two sessions running from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., allowing candidates to gain better familiarity with the examination environment ahead of the real test. With the main exams now imminent, education stakeholders advise all prospective students to reprint their examination slips if required, confirm their centres, and make adequate preparations, including arriving early on their designated examination day.

This timely release of the timetable has prompted candidates to remain focused and calm while double-checking every detail. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board continues to reassure the public of its dedication to conducting a credible, transparent, and hitch-free examination for the 2026 academic session.
