Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has strongly criticised the newly formed alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party and the Action Peoples Movement, describing it as nothing more than 419 politics. In a sharp statement, Wike distanced himself completely from any association with the APM and declared that the partnership lacks substance and credibility.

Speaking during a recent engagement, Wike disowned the alliance and made it clear that he has no involvement or interest in the arrangement. He expressed deep skepticism about the motives behind the collaboration, arguing that it represents deceptive political maneuvering rather than a genuine effort to serve the people. According to him, such alliances are built on false promises and are designed primarily to mislead the electorate.

Furthermore, Wike delivered a scathing assessment of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s reported presidential ambition. He stated categorically that Makinde’s bid is dead on arrival and stands no chance of success.

Wike emphasised that the political calculations surrounding the alliance are flawed and that any presidential aspiration emerging from it would collapse even before gaining momentum. His remarks underscore the ongoing tensions and divisions within opposition ranks as different factions position themselves ahead of future elections.

The outspoken governor’s position highlights the deep fractures in the PDP and its related alliances, raising questions about the stability and future direction of opposition politics in Nigeria.
