Peter Obi has expressed strong determination to confront Nigeria’s security challenges, stating unequivocally that he is ready to die for the country. The former presidential candidate asserted that he previously sent the notorious kidnapper Evans out of Anambra State during his tenure as governor, emphasizing that governance requires clear leadership.

He framed the current security situation as a contest for control, declaring that either bandits and terrorists dominate or responsible leadership takes charge. Obi announced his intention to declare war on insecurity and restore order across the nation.

In response to questions on his strategy, Obi maintained that he would not reveal specific methods publicly. He stressed that what Nigerians truly seek is genuine commitment rather than detailed blueprints.

The Labour Party leader also addressed the fuel subsidy removal policy, clarifying that he did not criticize President Bola Tinubu for the decision itself. According to him, he would have implemented the removal in a more organized manner without announcing it during inauguration.

Obi reiterated his belief that he won the 2023 presidential election. Looking ahead, he outlined ambitious plans for the power sector, promising that his administration would generate, transmit, and distribute at least 10,000 megawatts of electricity within four years. He further committed to serving only one term in office if elected president, positioning this as part of his dedication to selfless leadership and long-term national development.
