This move is part of the party’s constitutional process to renew and strengthen leadership structures at all levels from polling units and wards to local governments states and the national executive in preparation for greater participation in Nigerias democratic process particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The phased congresses will commence with Polling Unit and Ward Congresses on Tuesday April 7 2026 followed by Local Government Area Congresses on Thursday April 9 2026 and State Congresses on Saturday April 11 2026 before culminating in the National Convention where new national officers are expected to emerge.

The announcement signed by key party officials including National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi and National Organising Secretary Prince Chinedu Idigo emphasizes internal democracy consolidation and repositioning the ADC as a viable alternative force in Nigerian politics.
