President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to eradicating insecurity across Nigeria declaring it a formidable barrier that his government is determined to overcome. Speaking during an Eid al Fitr celebration at his residence in Lagos where he hosted Vice President Kashim Shettima and 23 state governors the President described insecurity as the next phase of the nation’s collective struggle and emphasized that it directly undermines progress and prosperity.

Tinubu stated that insecurity is an enemy of development progress and prosperity adding that he is making every effort to ensure collective victory over this challenge. He highlighted ongoing diplomatic initiatives to bolster Nigeria’s security apparatus including discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron on equipment and support as well as security focused engagements during his recent state visit to the United Kingdom.

The President noted that these international partnerships aim to provide military equipment training and collaboration to strengthen the fight against terrorism and other forms of criminality. Tinubu urged the governors to deepen their own interventions at the state level while maintaining unity and focusing on people centered policies to support vulnerable citizens amid economic pressures from global events such as the Middle East crisis which could exacerbate inflation.

He stressed the importance of not allowing insecurity to overshadow efforts to deliver tangible benefits to Nigerians and called for continued resolve in translating national visions into real impact on livelihoods.

This latest pledge comes as the administration intensifies multifaceted approaches to security including internal coordination and global alliances positioning the battle against insecurity as central to unlocking Nigeria’s full developmental potential.
